Program Manager - Radioactive Material Transport and Disposition
System One is seeking a highly motivated Radioactive Material Lifecycle and Transportation Program Manager. As a Radioactive Material Lifecycle and Transportation Program Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our client’s nuclear supply chain efforts on managing the lifecycle and transportation of radioisotopes. This is a direct hire position in either Washington, DC or Seattle, WA, with relocation assistance if applicable.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing strategies for radioactive material waste and transportation, based on evaluation and recommendations to management
Leading and coordinating the logistics of radioactive material supply and product transportation and handling, with inputs from various internal and external stakeholders
Working with our client’s fabrication facility partner(s) to execute the low-level radioactive material disposition strategies
Performing analyses of the radioisotope power system lifecycle and finding cost effective solutions for process waste and transportation, covering feedstock material, fabrication, assembly, and deployment
Preparing and supporting various documentation, such as design specifications, equipment specifications, inspection and maintenance procedures, component design details, concept of operations, and licensing materials
Supporting regulatory efforts, such as drafting or reviewing filings, participating in engagements, and contributing to regulatory technical papers
Managing and evaluating commercial contracts with partners and subcontractors
Preparing and giving presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including at technical conferences
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, with at least five years of experience for a bachelor’s degree or three years of experience for an advanced degree
A solid understanding of radiological material regulations and transportation requirements
A self-starter attitude and the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders with minimal direction
The ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in an uncertain environment
The ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the situation
Excellent written and oral communication skills
