We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Program Manager (Internal Title- Programming and Events Manager) on our Marketing & Member Experience (MMX) team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 d ays a week in the office.
As a Program Manager, you will
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program and Event Management
Manages several AMA-owned programs and events, leveraging internal experts and resources to develop programming, content, identify space, select speakers, and manage budget and execution
Develops and manages project plans, keeping track of progress, risks, solutions, enhancements
Facilitates collaboration and project ownership across multiple AMA business units to execute programs, including Program Ops, Sections, Div. of Legislative Counsel, OGC
Collaborates with Corporate Services on virtual platforms, hotel and meeting space arrangements, CVent registration and abstract management tool
Organizes and manages the execution of event marketing materials, including branding, staging, exhibits, collateral, videos, and more
Oversees day-to-day management of vendor partnerships, budgets responsibly, and keeps the CRT/CLM/PO process on track
Serves as day-of event coordinator for virtual and in-person events, leads logistics, troubleshoots issues, demonstrates professionalism
Leads marketing requests with channel owners and evaluates results, identifying risks and solutions when applicable
Internal and External Relationships
Manages vendor relationships and oversees execution of vendor responsibilities.
Provides guidance to AMA business unit partners throughout content development, programming, planning, speaking and exhibition opportunities to help them advance/achieve their business objectives
Monitors segment insights
Monitor performance of marketing tactics, customer feedback, and market trends and interpret results to inform sales, marketing, product and content strategies and plans
Conduct research and monitor industry programs and events and share actionable insights to enhance AMA-owned programs and events
Stay current on news in health care by monitoring healthcare publications, and subscriptions to daily newsletters; report on key learnings to Member Engagement team
May include other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related discipline required.
Minimum 7+ years of experience in event management, agency account service or corporate marketing.
Strong project management skills, organization skills, and attention to detail.
Proven success in managing and prioritizing multiple complex tasks.
Demonstrated ability to work with management and colleagues to achieve marketing and communications goals.
Experience in effectively and efficiently managing external relationships.
Excellent teamwork skills. Able to work collaboratively building consensus and relationships while remaining focused on goals and progress.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills including briefings, presentations, internal communications, and reports.
Ability to travel 10% of time.
