Built around the creative strategist model where each student is trained to be an idea generator and a strategic thinker, the SOJC Advertising program is the largest major in the SOJC and one of the most popular on campus. It celebrates the power of theory and practice, boasts the first Curiosity course in the country, and graduates students to careers in strategy, creative, media, brand management, and digital production. We provide unparalleled experiential learning opportunities such as trips to New York, San Francisco, and other national and international destinations for professional development. Our student agency Allen Hall Advertising and our competitive NSAC Adteam offer students a unique experience in working with clients and producing award-winning work. We also have a growing Advertising and Brand Responsibility Master’s program, where students apply advertising skills to address social and environmental challenges.

Moreover, we graduate leaders. Two of our recent graduates were named to the 2022 Adweek Creative All-Stars and one was selected for the Forbes 30 under 30 list in the same year. Our graduates build careers at agencies and brands around the world. Our Master’s in Advertising and Brand Responsibility was named to the Fast Company Innovative Ideas roster in 2018. We claim Dan Wieden, Tracy Wong, Glenn Cole, John Boiler, Brock Kirby, and Marianne Malina as celebrated graduates and ongoing supporters of the program.
