[**Production Supervisor
[**JOB SUMMARY:[He/she must be available and able to work on any work shift that is assigned. Responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks involving supervision of activities of the manufacturing area and ensuring that quality product is produced according to the production schedule set by the Production Manager. This includes equipment set-up, changeovers, emergency maintenance, directing employees, and supervising/conducting quality checks. At times, he/she will work along side employees in work that requires manual dexterity, visual acuity, and speed to perform the task at the required rate. He/she is responsible for ensuring that all employees follow specific written work instructions, follow 9100, and NADCAP requirements, and providing training and corrective feedback, when required. Duties will also include cleanup and maintenance of the assigned work area and security of the facility when office staff is not present.

Lead, manage, and train employees to ensure proper job performance.Direct and coordinate the activities of Cell Leaders and employees engaged in the setup and operation of equipment to ensure production orders are completed on time and according to specifications and all applicable SOPs.Confer with managers, production control, engineers, inspection, technicians, and maintenance personnel to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.Demonstrate equipment operations, work, and safety procedures to new employees, and/or assign employees to experienced workers for training.Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.Confer with management and subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, and discipline.Provide positive feedback to subordinates on meeting expectations for production, quality, safety, on-time delivery, waste and attendance. Act as a liaison between employees and management and be responsive to all employee concerns in an efficient and prompt manner. Identify ways to improve processes through employee involvement.Conduct regular employee performance reviews to coach for higher performance and continuous improvement. Set goals with individual employees and the team, monitor key metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement.Be supportive of new product development and start-ups, the introduction of new methods and systems to the work, and the implementation of 5S and other lean manufacturing essentials.Be responsible for employee safety and building security by training and enforcing safe work practices, reporting injuries and near misses, opening and locking facilities, periodically monitoring perimeter and addressing any security breaches or entry by unauthorized people.Support the Production Manager by reacting to change productively, accepting additional assignments positively and controlling rumors or negative comments or behaviors.
