Product Specialist

About the role:
The Product Specialist monitors all aspects of a product lifecycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing. This position stays abreast of trends in the marketplace to ensure the product's competitive position and interfaces with project managers and clients to determine the product's future direction. the role is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and performs a variety of tasks. This position may lead and direct the work of others and requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
Primary Responsibilities:
Monitors and drives product line performance.
Assumes the role of the product expert relative to business analytics, applications and customer support.
Conducts market research, and identifies and tracks market trends in the industry.
Provides training to inside sales, outside sales, and customers when necessary.
Works with cross functional teams to manage the product life-cycle. Including, but not limited to (purchasing, database management, manufacturing, quality, engineering, and marketing).
Education:
Associate's degree in electrical engineering, business, marketing or equivalent from a college or university. Bachelor-s degree in electrical engineering, business, marketing or equivalent area from a college or university is highly preferred.Knowledge / training:
Strong technical knowledge of IEC & NEMA control products. (Required) Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, as well as Outlook.
Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Analytical and problem-solving skills. Customer focused.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience (preferred):
