Digital Products is a crucial and growing portion of the global product portfolio within Bobcat. Product Development Managers operate at the intersection of business and development needs, acting as the primary narrator of how business needs are translated and executed within development teams. Product Development Managers must also influence business needs through collaboration with development teams on risks, costs, and implementation details.
Product Development Managers create and document business requirements and product specification details to align internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong narrative skills, both oration and composition. Product Development Managers work through complex business details and create concise unambiguous terms. Product Development Managers must then communicate these terms in ways that are comprehendible and impactful to every stakeholder. Product Development Managers also work with development teams to ensure the delivery of these objectives and in collaboration with other product managers to achieve successful business outcomes.

Role & Responsibility
Product Development
• Define and maintain globally aligned business requirements and product specifications for our digital products. Align these needs with product lines and business units for successful portfolio integration
• Drive business requirements into product/project scope to ensure solutions align to customer needs. Ensure these business requirements are understood and prioritized by the various delivery teams within the organization.
• Be the subject matter expert (SME) on products/services/features. Includes understanding of the ecosystem and user experience, compatible platforms and differences within platform, and performance capabilities.
• Define product management project plan and lead or collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product development projects to achieve project goals. Partner with the Program Management Office to achieve these goals
• Initiate and support overall user interface and experience creation and enhancement.
• Ensure alignment and execution of Digital Products within company New Product Development and Digital Innovation processes.
Product Planning & Prioritization
• Participate in the development of business planning, strategy, roadmap creation, and objective prioritization in collaboration with Global Digital Product Management.
• Develop and maintain Digital Product COGS, option packages, and configuration support.
• Participate in development and maintenance of product backlogs, including definition and prioritization efforts.
• Participate in quarterly planning events representing product management.
• Support Engineering in the identification and comprehension of certification, localization, and homologation needs.
• Provide inputs to the product roadmap strategy and annual operating plans based on market and product research
• Understand global operational goals and balance those aspects in the product and project planning process including quality performance, manufacturing complexity, and current supply chain capability.
Market Research & Product Support
• Participate in external research activities to understand customer and dealer needs
• Represent Voice of Customer and Dealer, along with utilizing product operation and technical system experience, to demonstrate product performance and user experience feedback and confirm product acceptance to support sales, quality, and product development teams.
Team Performance & Development
• Build and develop a team to successfully achieve project and individual development goals
• Lead, prioritize and provide guidance for collaboration activities across the Product Management team
• Refine existing or develop new processes that govern product management activities and facilitate cross-regional, cross-functional collaboration
• Act as process champion and gatekeeper for consistency and quality of Product Management activities and deliverables.
Job Requirement
Education Required: bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Economics, or applicable degree field.
Experience Preferred: 7-10 years of experience in Product Development, Engineering, Technical Writing, or Market Development.
Travel Required: 10-24%. (International travel may occur)
Primary communication language: English
Strong proficiency and desire for technical and/or narrative writing.
Strong presentation, storytelling, and communication skills with global partners
Strong organizational and influencing skills, ability to engage stakeholders.
Proven experience in developing and executing product development plans.
Good analytical, problem-solving skills and a desire to develop new skills.
Strong combination of strategic thinking, detailed tactical planning, and project management expertise.
