OVERVIEW: Seeking a Procurement Manager with demonstrated experience in spend categories, competency in contract language and negotiation and strong program/project management skills to develop and execute global sourcing strategies. Support global procurement strategies.
PRIMARY DUTIES:Design, implement, and manage sourcing strategies for the organizationAnalyze supply base, category market conditions, stakeholder requirements, pricing trends, and competitive benchmarking to determine appropriate sourcing strategiesDeliver category management services, including strategic sourcing, process improvement, risk management, supplier performance management, and continuous cost and performance improvementDevelop and implement cost savings/value creation projects across professional services categoriesEstablish and evaluate performance dashboard/metrics for professional services categoriesStructure, negotiate, and manage service and supply agreements with suppliers, including complex long-term strategic agreements, short-term transactional agreements and project-based or consulting agreementsSupport Carpenter Technology's Business Transformation (BTE) initiatives including procurement business process design, gap analysis and change management planProactively engage, influence, and collaborate with the Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Quality, R&D and Operations teams to ensure alignment on business objectives and project plansDrive stakeholder engagement within the IT, Professional Services - Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Travel and Consulting CategoriesEnsure compliance with Carpenter purchasing policies and procedures, business code of conduct, ethical practices and adherence to relevant laws and regulationsManage the source to pay process to support business operations across the organization to ensure consistency and best practices are implementedAnalyze supply base, category market conditions, stakeholder requirements, pricing trends and competitive benchmarking to determine appropriate sourcing strategyLead, motivate, and develop employees within Procurement organizationPerform all other duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field required5+ years' procurement, category management, and strategic sourcing experienceDemonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes, and proceduresDemonstrated category management expertise in one or more of the following IT (Cloud, Hosting, SaaS Agreements, Digital, Hardware, Software License Agreements), Professional Services - Finance, Marketing (Creative agencies, Print) Human Resources (Benefits, Contingent Resources, Recruiting Services), Legal, Travel and Consulting (both T&M and Fixed Cost Engagements) CategoriesProven excellence in professional services contract language, contract negotiation, contract management, conflict resolution and customer service skillsDemonstrated project management and execution skills with ability to manage multiple large complex projects with competing priorities and timelinesStrong organizational skills, inc uding the ability to plan, implement, and execute procurement strategiesStrong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial analysisAbility to quickly analyze data, as well as extrapolate and communicate insightsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills-reading, writing, and listeningProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
