Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Procurement Specialist in New Philadelphia, Ohio. The position involves supporting procurement and planning activities across various departments to ensure smooth operations and production continuity. It is a crucial role in our organization that requires a strategic approach to supply chain logistics and an understanding of purchase orders and bill of materials (BOM).

Responsibilities:

• Support all procurement and planning activities, ensuring the proper flow of parts and continuity of production.

• Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Evaluate on-hand inventory to ensure alignment with company goals.

• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts with appropriate documentation.

• Implement supply chain strategies that promote production continuity.

• Communicate risk factors to key stakeholders, escalating issues internally and externally as needed to mitigate any potential shortages.

• Review and align part deliveries according to the Master Schedule needs.

• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and vet potential suppliers.

• Address any shortages promptly by utilizing exception reports.

• Review and follow Material Requirements Planning (MRP) demands.

• Execute purchase orders and track inventory as needed. Requirements • Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role

• Proficient in generating and managing Purchase Orders

• Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) and its application in procurement processes

• Experience in Supply Chain Logistics, including planning, sourcing, and delivery

• Strong knowledge of procurement and sourcing procedures and regulations

• Excellent negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers and vendors

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions

• Proficient in using procurement software and other relevant computer applications
