Job Title: Process Engineer

Reporting : Engineering Manager

Mission of the position : Design, Develop Optimize Manufacturing processes systems to expand company capabilities with a focus on enhancing internal and external customer experience, quality and speed.

The company’s strategic vision is to deliver technological breakthroughs where none currently exist. Established in 1959 and located in Farmington, Connecticut (90 miles from NYC and Boston). The company has tripled in size over the last 5 years. Mott is poised for significant expansion over the next 5 years .

This is an in-person position based in Farmington, CT. Compensation package includes base salary, bonus, and 401k match. This is once in a lifetime opportunity to drive positive change and work in a dynamic, bureaucracy-free environment .

Key Responsibilities:

Support production to meet organizational metrics

Create production work documentation for new and existing products and processes.

Work instructions, standard works, etc.

Production routes and bills of materials

Focus on Safety

Liaison for all areas of organization (Sales, Quality, RD, etc.) with respect to products and production capabilities

Capital equipment

Proper machine identification and validation plans

Justification process and documentation

Implementation process and documentation

Major Challenges:

Continuous improvement in parallel with productions needs to realize revenue.

Transfer and preservation of historical expertise and knowledge.

Ability to adapt to a change in priorities based on forecast and operational needs.

Expected Performance Outcomes:

Become a subject matter expert in the value stream you are based in.

Identify opportunities for improvement and implement corresponding solutions

Specific goals will be centered around enabling safe production at 100% quality while reducing the average cost per piece by 5% yearly.

Required Experience:

BSME – Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with Operations Understanding.

Alternate Engineering degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

Manufacturing / Process Engineering experience with a focus on technical problem solving and transfer of development projects to production levels.

Proficiency in MS Office, working knowledge of ERP systems.

Skills:

Must possess a technical problem-solving mindset that enjoys resolving significant engineering challenges8D, FMEA, Cause and Effect, 5 Why’s

Experience using Stage Gate process for development through production scaling

Lean and Six Sigma skills necessary to efficiently and methodically resolve technical challenges

Demonstrated experience in Design For Manufacturability

Assembly tolerancing

Fabrication, machining, and welding

Production scaling

Tooling/Fixturing

Value Stream Mapping

Manufacturing Cell design
