RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Registration Specialist to join our team. As a Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by greeting and registering patients in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is per diem, shifts will vary.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:(75%) RegistrationGreets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays with patientsFields calls appropriately for center associatesCalls patients to confirm upcoming appointmentsActs as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic informationMaintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office clean upPrepares paperwork for daily and upcoming appointmentsFaxes reports, billing requests, and medical release forms to referring offices as requestedWorks closely with technologists to ensure patients have a smooth transition between the front office and technical areas(10%) InsuranceVerifies patient's insurancePre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance companyObtains insurance authorizationUses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointmentHandles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines(10%) SchedulingArranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriateEnters and submits patient exam ordersVerifies orders match exam schedulesSchedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtainedSchedules walk-in patientsProcesses requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patientsMaintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians(5%) Completes other duties as assignedRequired:High school graduate or equivalentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office1-2 years customer service experienceProficient with using computer systems and typingPreferred:Previous medical office experienceMedical terminology and office backgroundInsurance knowledgeBilingualRAYUS is committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.
