We’re looking for a Printer & Desktop Services Technician to join our team.
This position is Remote. US-based applicants only.
What We Need & What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Printer/Desktop Technician:
Responsible for providing onsite support to internal or external customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues. Tech ensures the proper day-to-day operation of applications and equipment and troubleshoots onsite software and hardware issues on laptops, desktops, smartphones and/or printers. Tech may also perform updates, repairs, upgrades, backups and other maintenance tasks.
As a Level 2 Technician, you may serve as a liaison between the customer and Compucom to lead problem resolution and change management processes. Work may be more technical in nature and could include more complex tasks such as performing data transfers or building images.
PC/Desktop/Laptop & Printer experience, good communication skills, good interpersonal skills, positive attitude, customer service experience, organization skills, mechanical aptitude, innovative and resourceful.
Capable of working with minimum amount of supervision, ability to recognize, prioritize and solve critical customer requirements.
Basic PC skills (e.g. Word, Excel). HP Printer Break-Fix training. Keep up to date on HP break-fix requirements.
HP Certifications on PC/Desktop/Laptop and Printer equipment a PLUS.
• Primary onsite support of client environment consisting of 90% HP printers; 10% Zebra printers. Also includes secondary support of HP desktop/laptop equipment.
• B/F repair and deskside support of client equipment throughout multiple facilities.
De-installation, installation, and configuration of HP Printers.
• Provides the customer with overview of installation or repair activity.
• Must keep the customer well informed through service.
• Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction by clarifying what the customer needs and ensuring that they are met.
• Handles customer problems promptly, and appropriately escalates issues according to established procedures.
• Monitor alerts using HP Tools and take appropriate actions to resolve, issue or facilitate repair calls.
• Assist customer with use of HP devices.
• Respond to calls that printer is not functioning and be able to engage HP break/fix support for repairs, if necessary.
• Report any occurrences of customer dissatisfaction to the Team Lead or Manager.
• May collect manual page counts at device, depending on billing infrastructure or non-networked devices
• Provide initial troubleshooting for device problems and/or perform spare device replacements.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
1-3 years of relevant experience
HP certifications a plus
CompTIA PDI+ certification a plus
Basic proficiency in the maintenance of printers and desktop equipment.
