  We have an opening for an Avionics Digital Hardware Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Gilbert, AZ.

  The digital avionics group is responsible for the development of spacecraft avionics hardware. This includes performing detailed circuit design, EEE part selection, schematic capture, circuit analysis, PWB part placement and signal routing, and working within a larger multidisciplinary program team. Responsibilities also include producing engineering documentation of the design in accordance with program requirements and department processes.

  Job Responsibilities

  Work on a design team and be responsible for the end-to-end design, debug, test and certification of the hardware

  Work closely with the spacecraft subsystem and system engineering teams to determine performance specs and requirements for the hardware

  Ensure that technical requirements, cost, and schedule for the project are achieved

  Documentation, development, and release

  Perform preliminary and detailed design of circuit card assemblies including schematic and Bill of Material (BOM).

  Analyze circuits to ensure they meet requirements under all test and flight environments

  Support the test and debug for flight and non-flight spacecraft electronic circuit card assemblies (CCA) and boxes

  This position can be filled at either the Engineer (level 2) or Principal Engineer (level 3) level.

  Basic Qualifications for Engineer:

  Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (ideally in Electrical Engineering) with 2 or more years of experience; or a Master's degree; or a PhD

  U.S. citizen

  Basic Qualifications for Principal Engineer:

  Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (ideally in Electrical Engineering) with 5 or more years of experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD

  U.S. citizen

  Preferred Qualifications:

  A basic understanding of the overall circuit design process

  Experience designing and optimizing digital circuits

  Experience defining and mapping functional requirements

  Experience in the test and debug of hardware systems

  A high level understanding of general and specialized test equipment to include: Signal Generators, Logic Analyzers, and Power equipment

  Salary Range: $75,300 - $112,900

  Salary Range 2: $92,600 - $139,000

  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
