POSITION: Principal Systems Studies Engineer

Job Duties: Lead activities and expand capabilities for, and direct others in the use of, load flow and stability, electromagnetic transients (EMT), and programming software (such as Python), including enhancing the simulation and building of models for T&D equipment, including distributed energy resources, FACTS, and HVDC. Lead interaction and business opportunities for power system advanced studies with Electric Reliability Organizations (EROs), developers, public and investor-owned utility planning, operations, and engineering focused on system T&D studies to identify, track, and support T&D infrastructure development from early phases to implementation. Engage and direct business for system studies in strategic T&D planning activities with EROs, developers, and public and investor-owned utilities in areas of T&D infrastructure development to operations management. Support and lead generator testing, model development, and validation to standards. Lead business and technology integration initiatives with industry organizations such as regional reliability/planning organizations, the IEEE, CIGRE, EPRI, and other industry groups. Organize and manage proposal activities in response to customer specifications, RFPs / RFQs, and technical information requests. Independently lead large-scale technical proposals for studies in various markets and in partnership with other firms. Develop business opportunities in support of the division objectives. Lead the development of technical papers and articles for publication in professional society journals and trade magazines; and for presentation at professional society meetings, industry conferences, and trade exhibitions. Lead and contribute to pre-specification for T&D equipment, contributing to design-oriented parameters. Travel to customer locations for engineering consultations and industry working group meetings.

Job Requirements: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electric Power Engineering, or related field plus five years of experience as a Principal Systems Studies Engineer, Model Engineer, Staff Software Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Power Systems Studies Engineer, Relay Settings Engineer, or any related job.
