　　Job Summary:

　　The Battlefield, Command and Control and Maritime Systems (BC2MS) Department in Portsmouth, RI, primarily supports programs in the U.S. Navy’s undersea and surface domains including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration.

　　( P4 ) BC2MS and Advanced Technology (AT) Programs at Raytheon are seeking Principal Systems Engineer s with acoustic and/or ocean engineering PhDs to support the design of undersea and sonar systems through analysis of acoustic propagation or signal processing and algorithm development.

　　Responsibilities to Anticipate:

　　Support design of undersea and sonar systems through analysis of acoustic propagation or signal processing and algorithm development

　　Use /modify or design ocean acoustic propagation tools, e.g. Bellhop, Parabolic Equations, Kraken , to support system performance analysis and other acoustic based investigations

　　Use MATLAB , Python or similar tools to develop signal processing and beamforming algorithm s for underwater remote sensing applications, including but not limited to, array signal proc essing, adaptive methods, ambient noise modeling, acoustic communications, PNT and synthetic aperture methods

　　Oceanography, o cean engineering system design, analysis and evaluation

　　Data analysis , acoustic test ing and experiment al design

　　Qualification You Must Have :

　　Typically requires a Doctorate in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience . In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required .

　　Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

　　Qualification We Value :

　　Experience with ocean acoustic propagation tools, e.g. Ray Tracing , Parabolic Equations, Normal Modes

　　Experience with MATLAB , Python, or similar tools to develop signal processing and beamforming algorithm s

　　Other ocean engineering system design, analysis and evaluation experience

　　Data analysis and test design experience

　　Excellent written and oral communication skills

　　Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

　　Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. 　　The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
