　　Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a set of complementary cloud services that enable customers to build and run a range of applications and services in a highly available hosted environment. OCI provides high-performance compute capabilities (as physical hardware instances) and storage capacity in a flexible overlay virtual network that is securely accessible from customer on-premises network. 　　OCI’s Security Posture and Compliance Platform team (Cloud Engineering) is developing an advanced SOAR platform to enhance the efficiency of cloud security operations. This platform, operating at a large scale in a widely distributed multi-tenant cloud environment, will integrate security tools seamlessly, automate repetitive tasks, and orchestrate incident response workflows. This aims to bring substantial gains in efficiency and effectiveness. The objective of the SOAR platform is to elevate the overall cybersecurity posture by improving the speed, efficiency, and consistency of incident response processes.

　　Who are we looking for?

　　We are looking for engineers with distributed systems experience and Cloud engineering experience. You should have experience with the design of major features and launching them into production. You’ve operated high-scale services and understand how to make them more resilient. You work on most projects and tasks independently. You have experience working with services that require data to travel long distances, but have to abide by compliance and regulations.

　　The ideal candidate will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and spearheading the robust engineering culture in the team

　　Develop using Java frameworks to rapidly build and deploy applications.

　　Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams and raise the bar for engineering quality and best practices

　　Design and architect complex distributed systems that scale on cloud platforms confirming to ensure the architecture aligns with best practices for reliability, scalability, and maintainability

　　Mentor and guide developers in writing efficient, maintainable, and scalable code Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards

　　Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and other engineering teams

　　Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and leadership

　　Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments

　　Provide technical insights for project planning and execution

　　Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables

　　Required Qualifications

　　8+ years of experience in software development using Java / Java EE technologies

　　BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

　　Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive

　　Demonstrated ability to write great code using Java.

　　Experience working on large-scale, highly distributed services infrastructure

　　Experience in middleware technologies, such as Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark, Spring Boot

　　Strong knowledge of databases (SQL), Query Optimisation, Experience in any NoSQL databases

　　Experience working in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-one live site servicing

　　Experience designing architectures that demonstrate deep technical depth in one area, or span many products, to enable high availability, scalability

　　Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Hands-on experience developing and maintaining services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)

　　Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) languages, preferably Terraform

　　Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

　　Experience in any scripting languages like Python, Ruby, BASH
