You will be responsible for design, architecture, and execution in your areas of responsibility, producing and operating high-quality scale services, and collaboration with partners. We are looking for an engineering leader who thinks strategically, works pragmatically and with enthusiasm to motivate and energize others. Core responsibilities include:
Define and drive team charter, vision, and strategy

Lead development and delivery of storage technologies across all of Microsoft businesses, including Azure, Windows, and Office
Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify trends and opportunities

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
12+ years of software development experience
5+ years of systems programming in Linux or Window
5+ years of industry experience with C/ C++ BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
Experience with storage in Kubernetes
5+ years of experience with kernel and device driver development in Linux or Windows
Experience in analysing storage performance and functionality in storage subsystems
Familiarity with current and emerging storage technologies
Familiarity with storage virtualization concepts like Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID), caching, tiering and thin provisioning
Experience in operating systems (Linux or Windows) is a plus, as is general storage stack development experience
Experience with filesystems, Databases, KV (Key Value) stores e.g. Rocks DB (Database), Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation and Durability (ACID) transactions is a big plus
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Strong understanding of systems software
Strong architecture and implementation skills in distributed systems with specific focus on microservices
Solid architectural skills backed up by implementation experience
Strong coding, debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills
A track record of solid results across multiple ship cycles
Experience in Block Storage and Filesystem
Thorough understanding of modern computer architectures found in desktop PCs and servers, including computer networking
