　　Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture.

　　Within the Microsoft fabric platform team, we are the Core platform team. Our team is responsible of the main compute platform on which all Fabric products are running. Our service is highly scalable and highly available and we are one of the biggest Azure services in the world. We develop features directly for customers but also features for the Fabric products that run on our platform. The Core platform service is a stateful service build on Azure Service Fabric and ContainerD. We use many Azure technologies from Storage, Premium Files, Service Bus, Event Hub, Event Grid, Kusto to SQL Azure, Cosmos DB and Azure Redis.

　　We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer with experience working with all service aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant services, ability to design components carefully, properly handle errors, write clean and well-factored code with good tests and good maintainability. Our preferred candidate will have middle tier or backend service development experience.

　　• Design high quality components in C#/Java using clean and tested code. 

　　• Integrate Azure technologies to achieve high scale and reliability.  

　　• Lead architecture, design, and develop features and solutions with high quality.

　　• Design, implement, and refine chosen solutions in close partnership with Product Management and partner teams.

　　• Review and contribute to the specifications and implementations written by other team members. 

　　• Provide technical leadership across features, projects, service fundamentals, and tools.

　　• Mentor new engineers to bring them up to speed in software development environment.

　　Qualifications

　　Required/Minimum Qualifications

　　Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

　　OR equivalent experience

　　6+ years engineering experience with highly scalable cloud services

　　Other Requirements

　　Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

　　• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

　　Preferred/Additional Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

　　OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

　　OR equivalent experience.

　　Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
