Our team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to enhance our Frontline experiences by developing modern single page web applications integrated with Microsoft's premier experience within Teams and Outlook which is the heart of the Microsoft Cloud and as such is critical to our mobile-first, cloud first vision. This will involve both the development of features along with providing guidance to the rest of the team.

Responsibilities
As a Principal Software Engineer on our team, you'll be responsible for:
Front-end development and best practices.
Driving projects from design through implementation, experimentation and finally shipping to our users.
System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions. Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design reviews.
Improve test coverage for our applications, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
Own the testability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understand when code is ready to be shared and delivered.
Gain a working understanding of Microsoft’s Field Services businesses and collaborate with the team to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.
Be a live site champ. Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach. - Troubleshoot and optimize automation, reliability, and monitoring for Live Site. Holds accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and mentor other engineers across products/solutions, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
Partner with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios. Lead incorporation of appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience with React, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
3+ years of experience with enterprise scale web applications & libraries.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with NPM/Node development.
• Experience with other programming languages/frameworks, such as C#, Blazor etc.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
