The Principal Software Developer wil support the Sponsor in a cross-domain data transfer and system integration solution. Activities will be concentrated on all aspects of the product development life cycle that are consistent with creating, implementing, and supporting new features and product capabilities in Platform as a Service (PaaS) applications and improving data processing methods that ensure highest levels of information system security. The candidate will travel to customer sites within the continental US, if required; and will work with people to provide exemplary customer service in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the customer's requirements for the team product and a working knowledge of how the product functions in the larger ecosystem
Develops and maintains a working knowledge of the required policies, procedures, and change management plan for the project.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the technologies in use by the team product while exploring alternative implementations and solutions
Create, implement, test, document, and support feature and product capabilities and data processing methods that ensure highest levels of information system security
Collaborate with PO/SM, team leads, and team members to ensure product capabilities that meet or exceed customer requirements
Perform maintenance on existing products.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors and 7+ years of experience developing microservices using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot
Experience documenting program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instruction so others can understand the program.
Experience with identifying complex problems and translating information to form solution options and implement strategies.
Experience developing customized applications to run on a Linux-based system.
Experience with virtualized computing, i.e. Virtual Machines, ESXi, Docker, etc.
Experience developing software applications using relational databases (SQL/Postgres) and persistence abstractions such as JPA/Hibernate.
Working knowledge of Object-Oriented design patterns and principles (such as SOLID, DRY, Composition-over-Inheritance, etc.)
Working knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns (such as Messaging Gateway, Competing Consumers, Scatter-Gather, Claim-Check, etc.)
Experience with distributed architectures and messaging systems (such as Kafka/RabbitMQ)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience containerizing and deploying applications using CI/CD tools such as (Git, Kubernetes etc.) and familiarity with service mesh technologies (i.e., RKE2, Istio, HELM)
Hands on experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, Junit, and Maven a plus
Experience with computer networking
Experience with Agile project management principles and processes
Security Clearance Requirement:
Active TS/SCI is required to start.Physical Requirements:
Remain in a stationary position 50%, capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, and frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers
Working with Data
