　　The SAP Engineering team within Azure Specialized is looking for a Principal SAP Architect that is focused on enabling, helping and supporting SAP to integrate SAP software, SaaS, and PaaS services into the Azure platform. Beyond that the team develops solutions and reference architectures for SAP workloads on the Azure platform.

　　Reliability is top of mind when running SAP on Azure. The SAP Engineering team is also engaged in designing automated tests, capable of detecting gating regressions in the platform, which can adversely impact SAP on Azure.

　　Responsibilities

　　Develop, test and document well performing, scaling and resilient deployment scenarios

　　Script and implement reliable automation tools for efficiently testing SAP workloads on Azure

　　Work with Azure development on rolling out planned maintenance changes for select SAP on Azure Customers

　　Work with Azure development on testing SAP workloads on Azure

　　Investigate and troubleshoot complex customer scenarios

　　Support the Microsoft customer facing personnel to successfully promote SAP workload scenarios on Azure infrastructure

　　Qualifications

　　Required Qualifications:

　　Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with SAP Basis Skills: SAP Basis Architect with a mix of architecture and technical lead roles SAP HA/DR Design and SAP Operational Best Practices.

　　OR equivalent experience.

　　6+ years of experience Operating Systems (OS) Skills: technical knowledge on at least one of the following – Windows, Linux (SLES or RHEL), UNIX. Proficient with performance analysis and debugging, HA/DR technologies, including design and implementation of Geographically Dispersed HA/DR solutions

　　5+ years experience Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) skills: with SAP HANA and at least 1-2 of the following: SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MaxDB . Proficient with performance query analysis, sizing, HA/DR and storage/disk design

　　4+ years experience with Hyper-Visor/Cloud/Networking technologies. Proficient with designing, deploying and troubleshooting solutions based on Azure (or AWS)

　　Other Requirements:

　　Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

　　Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　10+ years of experience as SAP BASIS Architect

　　Familiarity with DBMS query languages, like SQL or Kusto query language (KQL)

　　Troubleshooting skills

　　Reliable record of delivering and deploying reliable, highly available and scalable SAP architectures to customers

　　Communication skills – adaptable to the different layers of customer organizations. Capable to clearly articulate complex solutions and/or problems

　　Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
