The One Engineering System (1ES) team delivers new software capabilities in a modern, rapid cadence to best support our end customers in addition the engineers whom write the code. As part of the engineering platform team within 1ES, we're seeking a Principal Product Manager to drive the platformization of how we manage our engineering assets. This initiative will become the central nervous system enabling Microsoft developers to create and build various engineering system assets that support software development, deployment, and delivery.

Responsibilities
As a Principal Product Manager, helping drive the collection of and insight into our engineering system assets, you will be at the heart of Microsoft's engineering process building software that empowers engineering teams to develop and deliver high quality, secure products quickly. We are focused on solving the hardest, most interesting challenges of developing software on a scale without sacrificing stability, quality, velocity, or code health. The focus of this role is to define and execute the strategic roadmap for building a platform that will enable Microsoft developers to provide the collection and business value insight of their engineering system assets (code, repos, pipelines, apps, services etc...) in an efficient, compliant way. This work begins with understanding both articulated and unarticulated customer needs, and continues with designing, building, and scaling solutions end-to-end from business model to customer experience.
Develop and execute product strategy and roadmap for the collection of and insight into our engineering system assets.
Define product requirements and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development.
Good understanding of software engineering best practices such as code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, deployment, release, and change management.
Delivering results by driving execution of programs spanning multiple organizations from design to rollout.
Use creative product thinking to synthesize successful solutions into scalable cloud services.
Qualifications
Required Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
OR equivalent experience.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
