Job Description

　　We are currently seeking a Principal Member of Technical Staff to join OCI Virtual Machines Data plane ( VMIDP )team.

　　As a member of the VMIDP, you will take an active role in building the future of Cloud. You will define specifications for significant new projects as well as design and develop software. You will be at the forefront of building Hypervisors that power the Virtual Machines. You will have the opportunity to innovate and drive Engineering proposals and will be constantly challenged by fun and exiting problems that range from low level CPU scheduling, Overcommitting CPU/ Memory, device emulation, building vGPUs and launching the next generation virtual machines using the latest and greatest hardware.

　　This position requires a shown understanding of low level system engineering, including but not limited to QEMU/KVM, Operating Systems, Device Drivers, Firmware,Linux kernel internals. Understanding of X86 and ARM architecture is a strong plus. Prior experience with GPU, NVMe over fabric, live migration, SRIOV/VFIO is a plus. The right candidate will have the ability to debug sophisticated problems and analyze performance and scalability across a variety of configurations and workloads, with a focus on QEMU/KVM performance.

　　Responsibilities

　　BS or MS degree in CS or equivalent experience relevant to functional area

　　10+ years’ experience designing, developing and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.

　　Strong knowledge of C,Java / C++, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.

　　Service fundamentals: understanding the building blocks of critical IaaS services, such as Compute, Storage, Networking.

　　Demonstrable knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems fundamentals. Experience with Cloud is a plus!

　　Strong background in computer architecture and virtualization (experience with one or more of Qemu/KVM, Xen, HyperV)

　　Development experience working on low-level, performance-critical software.

　　Excellent knowledge of OS kernel internals, including memory management and device driver architecture.

　　Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
