About This Role:
The Physician Assistant (PA) Program, within the College of Healthand Human Sciences, is currently seeking 12-month Principal Facultymembers to join their team. This position is responsible for teachingthe prescribed didactic and clinical curriculum to PA students andevaluating their progress. This position will report directly to the PAProgram Director.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Serve as an advisor, providing guidance and mentorship to studentsin all phases of training regarding their academic performance andprofessional developmentDevelop and deliver lecture, laboratory, and small-group interactivesessions based on program needs and individual faculty experienceand expertiseServe as a primary mentor for students working to fulfill CapstonerequirementWork in concert with faculty members to develop appropriate coursesto address instructional needs of programReview and update instructional objectives, assist in development ofnew clinical preceptors, prepare and administer exams, assignstudent grades, and review rotation evaluation dataAssist Associate Director with summative assessment process fordetermining student readiness to enter Supervised Clinical PracticeExperiences (SCPE) and future clinical practiceParticipate in routine evaluation of PA student competenciesMonitor patient encounter/acuity logs in Exxat to ensureSCPE-specific learning objectives are metAdminister End-of-Rotation exams during clinical phase of curriculumParticipate in initial and ongoing evaluation of PA Program bycontributing to detailed analysis and reports for ongoing programevaluation, assessment, and improvementServe as course director for any available course of the didacticand/or clinical year after one year with K-State\'s PA ProgramParticipate in the screening, interviewing, and selection ofapplicants for PA ProgramServe as chair or member of assigned sub-committee (i.e.,admissions, promotion/professionalism, accreditation, didacticcurriculum, clinical curriculum, etc.)This 12-month position at the rank of clinical assistant professorhas a preferred starting date of Spring 2024, with competitivesalary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
