Azure Operator Insights provides unified visibility into data from large scale disaggregated networks for end-to-end business insights. 　　We do this by developing our massively-big data platform atop of which we, our partners and our customers build insights of dashboards, heuristics-based actions, ML and AI insights and copilot integration. We’re seeking a principal data scientist to spearhead our data science pillar in collaboration with the engineering, product and field disciplines of our team to help us achieve our mission.

　　This role will reward a candidate with strong product building instincts with an appreciation of real-world business value; strong coding skills, and who is comfortable discussing requirements with customers and presenting their work.

　　Responsibilities

　　Directing a small team of data scientists (but being very hands on personally)

　　Collaborating with PM and engineering to define what our platform and the ML/AI applications built on top of it should be – across multiple timezones

　　Educating and collaborating with partner team and customers – some of whom will have mature teams of data scientists, some will have none, and everything in between

　　Building insight product and demonstrations of possible product – leveraging both existing algorithms and researching the application of new and innovative ML algorithms to create differentiated insights solving our customers’ real world pain points

　　Qualifications

　　Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND proficient years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)

　　OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND proficient years of data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)

　　OR Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND proficient years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)

　　OR equivalent experience.

　　Proficient years developing data-driven analytics and solutions using a programming language such as Python, R, C#, C++, … - with familiarity with Python essential

　　Proficient years of experience developing and deploying enterprise-scale end-to-end machine learning solutions, including developing novel modelling approaches / architectures, or fine-tuning models (such as LLMs) for specific business use-cases.

　　Proficient years of experience developing enterprise-scale data engineering solutions, leveraging big data technologies (such as Spark, Azure Synapse, Databricks etc.)
