The Principal will promote active classrooms that are alive with discovery, problem-solving, challenge, and collaboration. The Principal will motivate instructional personnel to strive for Ivy Prep Academy’s core value of excellence and ensure rigorous standards-aligned instruction in the classroom for every scholar. Further, the Principal sets the direction for the instructional framework and pedagogical approach to Ivy Prep Academy’s academic programs while working collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, and scholars to spark joy in teaching and learning so that all scholars can succeed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Instructional Leadership:
Direct academic service areas (i.e. instructional improvement, curriculum and instruction, professional development, gifted services, English Language Learners, Early Intervention Program, Remedial Education Program, etc.) and scholar support services that are focused on both mastery of knowledge and skills, as well as character development
Apply research and best practices in academics and ethical leadership to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality instruction across a K-8 continuum
Guide teachers to differentiate instruction and empower all scholars to be self-directed independent learners
Regularly analyze quantitative and qualitative data that include assessments, reflections, and scholar work and use those data metrics to inform goals and instructional practices
Collaborate with local universities, school networks, and community partners to promote shared learning and scholar achievement in a real-world context
Scholar Life and Leadership:
Work collaboratively to shape and sustain a school culture in which scholars and staff work together to become effective learners and ethical leaders
Foster a positive, engaging and caring atmosphere, and a healthy Ivy Prep Academy community that enable scholars to flourish through triumphs and struggles
Sustain a learning community where everyone belongs and can succeed
Supervise the consistent tracking of attendance and discipline data and ensure fair and consistent practices aligned to school policies and practices
Supervision and Management:
Establish the direction for school improvement efforts by monitoring the progress of school performance, scholar achievement objectives and academic excellence indicators that are aligned to the Ivy Prep mission and strategic goals
Create the supportive and positive conditions that enable educators to provide rigorous, authentic, innovative, and personalized experiences for all scholars
Provide regular written and oral reports on academic accountability to Head of School and various stakeholders (i.e. Board of Directors, Leadership Team, Teachers, Parents, and Community Partners)
Work collaboratively to create master schedule, daily schedule, class rosters, and emergency preparedness plans
Coaching, Development, and Talent Management:
Observe and provide regular, actionable feedback so that teachers and support staff fulfill their highest aspirations
Organize professional development that is aligned to organizational goals and responsive to individual needs that include job embedded opportunities for growth and continuous improvement
Build the capacity of staff to implement inclusive and trauma-informed practices that meet the needs of all scholars
Oversee hiring of highly qualified staff who excel at meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of scholars
Community Relations
Serve as a liaison between teachers, parents, and the community fostering strong partnerships between stakeholders
Exhibit a high degree of professionalism while serving as an exemplar for ethical leadership
Communicate school information, goals, scholar learning, and behavior expectations by using effective communication techniques with scholars, teachers, parents, and stakeholders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s Degree required, Education Specialist preferred
T4-T7 Georgia Certification required
Minimum 5 years teaching experience required
Experience in both classroom instruction and school administration, including responsibilities in curriculum oversight, supervision, and evaluation of faculty
Proven track record of raising scholar achievement during tenure as principal and/or instructional school leader
Strong analytical skills to track and analyze data in order to uncover trends and create strategic plans to improve results
Comfortable coaching adults and communicate feedback that successfully lead others to discover their abilities, values, passions, and responsibilities
