The Prevention Educator is responsible for the development and delivery of ATOD prevention services in Delaware County, using the risk and protection framework. This position requires developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with schools, community and business groups and other human service agencies.<p>

　　Description of Duties:<li>Present OASAS approved model programs in schools countywide.<li>Network with school staff and administration to present OASAS approved model programs and services to meet changing school needs.<li>Provide adolescent screenings, market and facilitate low-risk educational support groups.<li>Develop and implement community education programs for groups such as parents, youth-at-risk, and services groups on general or special substance abuse issues.

　　<li>Provide staff support and participate in other ADAC programs and events.<li>Attend workshops, seminars and meetings for professional development.<li>Attend and participate in staff meetings, staff functions and fundraisers.<li>Observe general office procedures with regard to standardized statistical reporting and data collection and submit such on timely basis'<li>Perform other duties as required by the agency's administration to meet ADAC's program objectives.<p>

　　Work experience/education in the prevention, intervention and or treatment of ATOD issues is preferred. Creativity, and strong communication and organizational skills a must. Individual should meet one of the following requirements.Four year degree preferred in human services, health, education or related field.Demonstrate the ability to carry out the duties as outlined through work and life experience.<p>

　　SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:Working knowledge of various computer programs needed to perform requiredJob duties. Such as but not limited to the following.Word ProcessingFamiliarity with the internetE-mailingPower Point presentations and Excel helpful but not required. Strong interpersonal and phone skillsStrong communication and writing skills and comfortable with public speaking<p>

　　Travel will vary. Moderate travel throughout the county. Moderate travel outside of the county.All travel expenses are covered as defined in agency personnel policy manual.
