We are looking for reliable Press Operators Helpers who have an interest in learning how to become a Press Operator. This opportunity provides guaranteed weekly overtime, and an opportunity to learn how to become a Press Operator. Responsibilities
The Press Helper assists the Press Operator with the required steps of setting up the printing press for each job order
Makes sure there is enough raw material for the job prior to beginning the project
Checks all master rolls for damage or crushed cores
Assures understanding of the correct side of material that will be printed
Places raw material rolls on the press
Sets up for ink pans and pumps
Checks viscosity and pH
While running a job, monitors and documents ink issues and viscosity
Removes and washes plates, rollers, and ink pans
Removes cylinders, removes unused material from unwind and returns to inventory
Prepares for next job
Learns the basics of press operation
Cleans and maintains the press
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, or kneeling
The essential functions of this role include:
working in a smoke free environment
working in a non-temperature controlled environment
manual lifting up to 50lbs
standing for 10 hours at one time
working up to 20 hrs of overtime per week
