---------- Purpose: ---------- [The prep cook assists the line cooks in prepping food items needed for dishes.]{#_Hlk17269892} ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Essential functions: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - Cuts and portions fruits and vegetables according to specifications set by the Sous Chef. - Measure ingredients needed for recipes for the line cooks to ensure efficiency in kitchen. - Stores ingredients in dedicated containers, making sure that they are best preserved. - Informs superiors when the ingredients stock is getting low or when the kitchen tools do not work properly. - Cleans and sanitizes the working surfaces, tools, utensils and working area. - Assists in the cleaning of the kitchen before closing. - Other duties as assigned by management. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - High school diploma or GED. {=html} - At least one year of experience working in a restaurant. - Valid food handler's license. - Sound knowledge of food safety regulations. - Excellent time-management skills. - Exceptional customer service skills. {=html} - Ability to stand for a prolonged period, and at least lift 50 pounds.
