　　GENERAL SUMMARY:

　　Munson Medical Center’s, Pre-Operative Assessment Center, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its team of experts. Based in desirable Traverse City, MI, our Pre-Operative clinic includes 2 highly skilled physicians delivering care together with 1 experienced Advance Practice Provider and 15 Registered Nurses.

　　ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

　　Performs comprehensive patient assessments in the ambulatory setting, including history and physical examinations, preparing patients for their planned surgery.

　　Orders diagnostic tests, such as stress tests (exercise or pharmacologic), x-rays, ECG’s, laboratory tests, and interprets test result.

　　Develops and implements patient management plans, records electronic office notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care with collaboration and general supervision of the physicians and the anesthesia department.

　　Communicates the patient’s readiness-for-surgery to all parties involved, including whether additional testing or medical treatment may be necessary before surgery.

　　STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

　　Education / Training:

　　Physician Assistant:

　　A Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC- PA ( Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants) accredited institution or PA Certificate Program.

　　Certification as a Physician Assistant by the AAPA (American Academy of Physician Assistants)

　　Licensure as a Physician Assistant by the State of Michigan

　　Nurse Practitioner:

　　Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan

　　Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner to practice in the State of Michigan

　　Certified as Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Association

　　Work Experience :

　　Hospitalist experience preferred but not required

　　Certification, Licensure, Registration :

　　State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license required
