Job Summary
Serves as the Practice Consultant (PC) to assigned service lines/clinical areas for all related business. The individual acts as consultant and educator to physician leadership, administrative team and Operational staff for reimbursement, strategic growth initiatives, and compliance improvement initiatives. Provide strategic direction to facilitate maximization of clinical revenue and oversee the revenue cycle activities associated with assigned clinical areas. Investigates current processes, assessing efficiency and accuracy, and provides solutions for problems, process improvement, development of training programs, and documentation strategies that support ICD-10 complex terminology for clinical practice operations and management.
Job Duties
Responsible for determining data and planning needs by communicating with clinicians, administrators, and analysts.
Identifies issues and formulates hypotheses.
Performs analysis by accessing a wide-range quantitative and qualitative information, including market and trend data, physician productivity, and clinical technology.
Acquires external relevant data and information sets, including insurance regulations and technology deployment.
Synthesizes information for new program and service design and establishes performance benchmarks.
Identifies and quantifies business opportunities, leads program development, and business plans.
Prepares reports, presentations, maps, and graphs, reflecting the synthesis, summary, and translation of data into actionable information.
Delivers presentations to clinicians and administrators.
Responsible for supporting software users throughout organization to develop and deploy workflows and support data sets.
Develops and monitors all billing flows system-wide.
Provides education and training for ICD-10 across the organization.
Consultants will work with client to define solutions to needs or problem areas, and determines scope of investigation required to obtain solution.
Solutions may include installation of alternate methods and procedures, changes in methods and practices, or redesign of products or services.
Serves as the primary liaison with users and Information Technology for financial system requirements including: System problem solving, system enhancements, new system development and implementation, and system auditing and maintenance Administers and champions the objectives of new entity and acquisitions by acting as a liaison between Revenue Management, IT, and clinical operations.
Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding mergers and other financial analysis to optimize accuracy, proficiency, and ensure that the organization’s initiatives and targets are met.
Maintains full understanding of commonly-used workflows, concepts, practices, and procedures within a dynamic healthcare field.
Utilizes extensive experience, creativity and judgment to plan, execute, and accomplish goals in a timely fashion.
Shows flexibility to perform a variety of tasks as they present themselves.
Educates physicians and management on governmental policy changes and the effect these changes have on clinical service, while creating strategies to reduce the impact while maintaining compliance.
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Travel may be required. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
