The Department of Psychological Sciences is located on the FlagstaffMountain Campus of Northern Arizona University, situated at the base ofSan Francisco Peaks. Flagstaff is located at the southern edge of theColorado Plateau (7,000\' elevation), 30 miles from Sedona, 90 milesfrom Grand Canyon National Park, and 150 miles from Phoenix. TheFlagstaff area offers 4-season outdoor activities and consistently votedas one of the top college towns.
About the Position
The Department of Psychological Sciences is seeking a Post-MasterTeaching Fellow. The Post-Master Teaching Fellowship program is aone-year post-master\'s teaching fellowship in which up to 2 of NAU\'sMaster of Art\'s in Psychological Science recent graduates will have theopportunity to teach full-time under the mentorship of a doctoral-levelprofessor who is an expert in pedagogy. This fellowship is designed tobe a unique and prestigious program that will enhance post-master\'scareer readiness. Teaching load will be 4 courses per semester (80%).The remaining 20% of duties will be dedicated to learning pedagogy andteaching methodology under the supervision of a PhD level facultymentor.
Responsibilities Include:
The Department of Psychological Sciences offers Bachelors and Master\'sdegrees in Psychological Science and houses a PhD program inInterdisciplinary Health. Responsibilities include:
Teaching 100- and 200-level undergraduate courses, face to faceTaking part in the PMTF mentorship program which may includededicated mentoring time, preparing teaching materials and lessonplans, working on presentations or papers on the teaching ofpsychology.This position is posted as Post-Master Teaching Fellow, which is aworking title. The NAU system title for this position is Instructor.
Only graduates from NAU\'s Master of Psychological Science program willbe considered for this position
This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent ocomplete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility withor without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.
Minimum Qualifications
Recent Master\'s degree (last 2 years) from NAU\'s Master inPsychological Sciences.Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Teaching Assistant.Completed the graduate level Teaching Practicum course (PSY665).Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Understanding of teaching best-practices, including equity-basedpedagogy.Interpersonal skills.Communication skills.Compensation & Benefits
Salary range begins at \$52,131. Annual salary commensurate withcandidate\'s qualifications and related experience.
