This position assists in the design and execution of research on Cryptococcus. Work involves: 25% Literature Research Reads relevant scientific literature as suggested by the investigation to identify relevant facts, techniques, and procedures from the primary literature. 50% Laboratory Research Performs, analyzes and interprets research results on the human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans using molecular biological, microbiological, or genetic techniques. 25% Experimental Design Creates methods to meet specific research needs and to assist in development of new laboratory techniques. Employs a wide variety of experimental techniques including but not limited to in vivo mouse studies, MIC assays, PCR, electrophoresis, tissue culture, transformation, genomics, Southern, Northern, and Western Analysis. Qualifications Qualifications: MD or PhD or equivalent in a biological science. Extensive laboratory experience.
