Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a closely related field.Preferred Qualifications:
The qualified candidates should be highly motivated and enthusiastic with interests in optical imaging, biophotonics for neuroimaging and cancer imaging applications. Research experience in following techniques is preferred: Experience in optical, optomechanical, electro-optic systems, CCD cameras, LEDs, lasers, structured light illumination, spatial light modulators (DMD), and digital light projection (DLP) for cancer imaging application, and diffuse correlation spectroscopy and speckle imaging for assessing the human brain function. Also experience in in vivo optical imaging, diffuse optical spectroscopy and imaging, optical, optomechanical, electro-optic systems, hardware control and signal acquisition using NI DAQ card, NI LabView would be highly valuable. .
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Biomedical Engineering with and .
The incumbent will take active part in developing optical imaging technology and then design and run research experiments and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
Duties:
Perform experiments, data analysis.
Prepare manuscripts for publications in peer reviewed and/or scientific journals.
Prepare grant proposals; apply for grants to include writing proposals for the research project, identifying funding sources, and training opportunities.
Responsible for the overall management of the lab, may supervise students and research support position(s). Will provide training on specific specialized skills and research methods, and is responsible for the operation of the lab.
