L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Lead, Information Security Systems Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Rochester, NY facility and offers a hybrid and 9/80 work schedule.
Position Overview:
The Information Security Systems Engineer will be involved in Information Assurance (IA) related architectural development, CONOPS development, trade studies, requirements analysis and flow down of requirements to software, firmware and hardware configuration items, as well as verification and validation of requirements. This position requires significant DoD Information Assurance and Cybersecurity expertise to support embedments of cryptographic components wihitn tactical radio platforms. The successful candidate will perform System Security Engineering tasks related to NSA high assurance evaluation and certification of advanced tactical radio platforms. Requires knowledge of modern, advanced embedded communications systems, NSA High Assurance (Type 1) Certification Process, strong understanding of security requirements and how they must be implemented in the radio platforms to meet various DoD and commercial standards/specifications (Program Protection Planning (PPP), Risk Management Framework (RMF), etc.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Information Security Systems Engineer will be involved in Information Assurance (IA) related architectural development, CONOPS development, trade studies, requirements analysis and flow down of requirements to software, firmware and hardware configuration items, as well as verification and validation of requirements.
Analyze cybersecurity requirements and work with the development teams to ensure relevant requirements are properly designed and implemented
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Ability to obtain a security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Has a good understanding of the NSA High Assurance (Type 1) Certification procecss from beginning to end.
Undestanding of Software Assurance and Hardware assurance principles and methods. Familiarity with tools (static analysis, dynamic analysis) that help assess the quality of SW components.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment; excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written)
Experience with wireless networking platforms/system design and development.
Experience with Requirements Management systems and tools, such as DOORs
Ability to analyze microprossor based digital HW designs and schematics.
Familiarity with radio/RF concepts and technology
