rResponsibilities
rThe RankinLab{target="_blank"rel="noopener"} is seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow to study chromosomeassembly and dynamics, how these events are controlled, and howcorruption of these processes contributes to disease. Our lab forms partof the Program in Cell Cycle and Cancer Biology, which offers anexcellent training environment in a state-of-the-art facility. We use avariety of experimental models, including cultured cells, biochemistry,extracts from frog eggs, and advanced microscopy to address problems ofchromosome structure, replication, and inheritance. Experience directlyrelated to this field is not necessary, but basic molecular biologyskills are preferred. Applicants should demonstrate enthusiasm for thetopic, willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently todevelop their project(s), analyze experiments, and prepare manuscripts.Successful candidates will have good written and verbal communicationskills and be willing to engage fully in lab and departmentalactivities. During their tenure in the Rankin lab, fellows will receivesignificant career development support. They can also expect to attendtraining courses as well as scientific conferences, where they canpresent their work and establish their presence in the researchcommunity.
