Our translational research group focuses on studying the genetics of epilepsy and other neurodevelopmental diseases using patient-derived tissue as well as murine models. We use cutting-edge techniques including single cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomics/proteomics, and other genomic techniques. The successful candidate will be engaged in projects exploring the molecular etiology of epilepsies through bioinformatic analysis of single-cell sequencing data and other genomic data. Prior experience with R and Seurat is preferred. The Institute for Genomic Medicine provides a stellar training environment with exposure to world-class expertise in genomics. A Place to Be Proud.ResponsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConducts independent research studies and analysis in a specific area agreed upon in conjunction with the principal investigator.Collects and analyzes data in accordance with appropriate protocols and statistical procedures.Maintains organized files, documents and annotates code, and prepares reports, graphs, tables, etc. of the results of studies.Collaborates and interacts with other researchers in the laboratory and across the institute.Prepares scientific publications and grant proposals with regard to a specific area of research.Attends scientific conferences and gives scientific presentations.Serves as a resource person for other investigators and as a mentor to less experienced research personnel.Works toward scientific independence.Performs miscellaneous related duties as required.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDEducation:Ph.D. in the biomedical sciences.
