The anticipated salary range for this role is between $69,000.00 and $81,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision assist the Bank’s Head of Compliance Program Governance and Reporting or delegated manager with the oversight of the Compliance Policy, Procedure and Training functions. Additionally, the compliance analyst researches and maintains current knowledge of compliance laws and regulations. The compliance analyst must have a strong background in banking operations and be knowledgeable of bank products and services to assess the impact that changes in laws or regulations have on the Bank.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the creation, maintenance, and governance of the Compliance policies and procedures.
Manages the administration of the Compliance Training program through the bank’s Learning Management system.
Assist in the creation of reports in all Microsoft products.
Assists in the oversight of the compliance program to ensure that compliance risks are appropriately identified, monitored, and controlled.
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
The individual hired to fill this position will be primarily responsible for the training program, compliance policy and procedures; however, may be called upon to assist with other activities of the compliance department, as time permits.
Job Specifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience in banking and compliance functions. CRCM or similar certification is preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience with regulatory compliance in a banking environment. 5+ years in the banking industry.
Skills/Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and experience communicating with all levels of management.
Must be a team player and ready to work as a cohesive group.
Must be adaptable and able to work in a changing environment.
Must be detail oriented, thorough, and well organized.
Must be self-motivated, able to take direction and be responsible for the end work product.
