About POLICE OFFICER (INSTRUCTOR)

  Summary You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER (INSTRUCTOR) in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION of NAVBASE CORONADO SEC DET. Responsibilities You will prepare course material to instruct personnel in the field of law enforcement (e.g., law and evidence, terrorist, laws of arrest, search and seizure, basic criminology, accident investigation). You will monitor law enforcement personnel to ensure compliance with agency standards and policies governing employee proficiency in the use and care of assigned firearms. You will propose career development plans (e.g., training requests, utilization proposals) to enhance career of law enforcement employees. You will discuss with students the procedures required in law enforcement. You will collaborate with training facilities (e.g. installation personnel, regional training academy staff) to supplement course instruction. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing course materials in the field of law enforcement; 2) Providing up-to-date material and information to students; 3) Conducting lectures, discussions, conferences, and demonstrations on law enforcement, investigative techniques, procedures, and practical applications; 4) Identifying training needs and requirements of each law enforcement student, ensuring training is scheduled and completed. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. Agreement to Continue in Service- CSA, Agency requires 36 months of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with the Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntarily complete the length of employment requirement can subject the employee to reimburse the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training. A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position. This position requires rotating shift work. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. PCS is not authorized. Must successfully complete a designated Navy Police Officers Course of Instruction.
