Job Description

We are looking for the next Plant Planner for our Rockland, ME site.
The Plant Planner is responsible to ensure timely supply of materials to the plant for uninterrupted production processing and servicing customers at a best in class level. In addition the plant planner will be responsible for creating and maintaining weekly and daily detailed production / supply schedules to meet customer demand requirements. Key interface between plant operations teams, Master planners, and customer service to ensure all requirements are satisfied to deliver to our customers.
Job Requirements
Plant Planner
Plan both short- and long-term to align supply and demand to support inventory needs
Facilitate collaboration meetings with stakeholders and vendors to review purchase forecasts, proposed orders, and other operational issues
Monitor movement of materials through purchasing, storage, production, and retail distribution
Set preferred stock levels and prevent excess inventory
Solve problems of raw material shortages;
Optimization and continuous improvement of material availability; global inventory days; inventory write-off; and obsolete/slow moving inventory.
Design and create new tools to help improve the planning functions of supply chain
Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
Issue detailed production schedule utilizing SAP PPDS for planning horizon.
Manage production details in line with business strategy (cost, rate, inventory and uptime).
Assure schedule is continually maintained and communicated throughout the supply chain.
Highlight and actively participate in the identification and resolution of inventory, customer order and quality issues as they develop.
Monitoring process orders & assuring closed as needed, accurate process orders are used to maintain system & data integrity
Works with manufacturing to optimize the plant schedule along with manufacturing capabilities.
Maintain SAP Master Data to support scheduling & ATP process
Maintain & monitor key KPIs for assets (i.e. slow-moving & obsolete inventory, capacity loading, production to plan, inventory, delivery to promise, etc.
Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related fields.
Knowledge of MS Office tools
Effective communication skills
Analytical and quantitative skills
Ability to handle high-pressure situations
Accountability
Continuous improvement attitude
+3 years experience in operations or supply chain roles
Knowledge of supply planning theory and stock management
