Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
Knowledge of electromechanical concepts for the proper functioning, operation, and repair of equipment and machines.
Experience using test equipment and other specialized tools for troubleshooting, measuring and calibration.
Knowledge of electric and mechanical safety practices and procedures.
Knowledge and skills in the computer field, able to work with Microsoft Office software, capable of creating Spreadsheets, and possess good writing skills.
Must possess State Class “C” Driver’s License and maintain eligibility to drive a university vehicle pursuant to the University’s Driver Selection Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating thermal plants.
Knowledge in the maintenance and operation of Chillers, Chill water production, Chill and Condenser Water pumps.
Knowledge in the maintenance and operation of Boilers, Heat exchangers, Steam production, Feed water systems.
Knowledge in the maintenance and operation of VFD’s, HVAC systems, MCC’s, RO systems, water quality control and chemical stations.

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the absorption and centrifugal chillers and boilers.Job Duties
Responsible for operating, inspecting, reporting, cleaning, painting, repairing, and maintaining electromechanical equipment in all campus plants. Assist the Plant Operator II and Head OperatorAdditional Information to Applicants
Plant Operations are 24/7/365. Regular rotation of shifts may occur if Plant Operations dictate. Therefore, work days and work hours are subject to change. Selected candidates will be given two weeks’ notice prior to a permanent change in work hours or days. Candidates for the position will be required to work any one of the three different shifts. Applicant will work during holidays and will be required to work additional hours or days when needed.
