Job SummaryThe Plant Manager is responsible for effectively planning, directing, andcoordinating all activities of assigned manufacturing Plant. Responsibilitiesinclude safety, environmental, quality, production, maintenance,cost control, and leadership of the Plant workforce.
Essential Functions
*Provides the direction and necessary resources to establish safety andenvironmental performance that meets established goals for the Plant. Thisincludes development and implementation of the proper behavior and attitudesby employees to guarantee excellent performance.*Develops and implements plans to reduce environmental waste, meetapplicable environmental regulations and handle emergency situations that mayoccur at the Plant.*Develops a Plant operating plan that is consistent with and supports thebusiness plan.*Ensures standards for product quality, equipment reliability and operatorperformance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used tomaximize production.*Leads Plant's Operational Excellence initiatives.Utilizes Lean and/or SixSigma tools/resources to drive continuous improvement.*Develops and manages a capital plan that supports the business strategy andimproves Plant operations.*Ensures the Plant achieves its annual operating cost objectives.*Directs production managers/supervisors in the execution of theirresponsibilities to ensure meeting the Plant's objectives.*Effectively and consistently communicates Plant's manuf cturing incentiveplan goals to associates.*Ensures subordinates' career development goals are identified and plans putin place to support them.*Effectively represents Avient to the external community, including activeinvolvement in local civic groups, ongoing coordination with regulatoryagencies and effective interface with emergency response services*Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, related technical discipline or businessrequired; Master's degree in Operations Management and/or APICScertification preferred.
Additional Qualifications
At least 10 years of progressively responsible manufacturing experience,with at least 7 years of experience supervising multiple individuals and/orteams/shifts.Thorough knowledge of manufactuing operations and safety procedures; priorexperience in pultrusion and/or composites/plastics operations stronglypreferred.Prior experience and utilitzation of Lean Six Sigma methodology stronglypreferred.Demonstrated track record of success in managing a safe and environmentallysound work environment.Excellent leadership skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills.
