What you will enjoy doing** The Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for Structural Engineering and Plant Design personnel with regard to all engineering and design aspects for project execution* You will set expectations and approve deliverables for your team* Also, you will work in a multi-disciplinary environment, you and your team will execute multiple fired heater and furnace projects in parallel* You will hire, train, develop, and appraise your direct reports* In addition, you will manage departmental budget and control expenses effectively* You will assume the lead engineer's role on assigned projects* You will ensure project compliance with respective client specifications and governing codes, as well as provide definition of Structural and Design scope of supply on any given project
What makes you great* You have a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and are a Registered Professional Engineer* You have at least 10 years of relevant work experience with demonstrated increasing responsibilities in engineering management working with a combined team of engineers and designers* You have experience with fired heaters or furnaces for petrochemical applications* Alternatively, you have experience in power plants, chemical plants, or pulp and paper industry* You have working knowledge of structural design and analysis calculations using computer-aided and / or manual design techniques including, but not limited to: base plates, foundation anchor bolts, columns, platforms, ducts, stacks, heater shell, pipe racks, bolted and welded connections, piping and equipment support steel, wind, seismic, dead and live loads* You have working knowledge of national and international codes, governing regulations and industry standards, etc. (e.g. IBC, ASCE, AISC, API, OSHA, PIP)* Additionally, you have effective computer skills and working knowledge of software including Microsoft Office, STAAD Pro, Smart Plant Review, AutoCAD, TEKLA, or equivalent software
