Position Summary
The Repair & Maintenance Engineering position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. An Associate Professional position applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and must be able to explain facts, policies and practices related to the job area. Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Works on repair and maintenance engineering problems of limited scope and contributes on projects or processes while receiving detailed instructions from higher level professionals
• Contributes to planning of and coordination of maintenance engineering work, including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications
• Performs engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts
• Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules
• Participates in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Supports continuous improvement/automation activities
• Other duties as assigned
