Job Summary
This position is responsible for facilitating and monitoring the planning and operations within the assigned business unit at an entry professional level. This includes learning and assisting with strategic deployment and operational implementation of the strategic plan, projects, and initiatives for the assigned business unit.
Essential Responsibilities
Projects and Planning
Monitor and learn to guide the department-wide portfolio of projects and performance dashboard with guidance from department leadership; grow skills in leading the team in identifying priorities and advancing projects and performance.
Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring clinical and/or operational strategy aligned with the organization at large and each region, department, or line of business.
Provide input for developing and administering the team’s annual strategic plan, as well as underlying goals, projects, strategies, and metrics.
Participate in identifying, implementing, and facilitating a monitoring system with visibility to metrics, reporting, and progress toward goals.
Liaise with other departments relating to costs, planning, and/or deliverables involving moderate complexity.
Participate in administering projects for business unit initiatives.
Assist in guiding internal stakeholder engagement to move strategies forward; may include external stakeholder and partner engagement.
Network with multiple resources to learn and ensure standard tools and processes are developed, deployed, and improved upon to support the various project and programs.
Operations
Provide input to and administer the operational infrastructure to help ensure the business unit is operating as efficiently as possible and delivering the highest quality services to its customers.
Learn to assess, recommend, implement, and train on departmental process improvements for operational policies, procedures, and documentation.
Grow knowledge to help ensure leaders and staff understand the overall clinical and/or operational strategy and their role in supporting this work.
Assist team in working across departments, regions, and lines of business within a matrix structure.
In partnership with business unit leadership, assist with building, deploying, and leading communication systems, forums, and pathways to support working cross-departmentally with other departments.
Coordinate the business unit’s meeting infrastructure, including content, tracking, and reporting on deliverables; assist in staffing senior leadership meetings and huddles.
In partnership with department leadership, may help identify content and presentations for enterprise-wide meetings.
Organize and manage activities such as retreats, team development, and other forums to ensure collaboration and cohesion.
Grow skills in collaborating with data analyst(s) to extract and present relevant data internally and externally as needed.

Experience and/or Education
Required
Minimum 3 years’ experience in administrative, project, program, or operational support or coordination OR
Minimum 1 year experience in a planning and operations specialist or project management position Preferred
Experience performing planning, operations, or other work within the department’s area of focus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Knowledge
Ability to learn the principles, methods, and techniques of project management
Familiarity with quality assessment measures
Basic understanding of Oregon Medicaid or Medicare in area of focus (preferred)
Ability to learn health plan financing, health care costs, health outcome measures, and health plan operations (preferred)
