Primary ResponsibilitiesHDR is currently looking for a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL)Practice Leader to complement our growing Transportation Planning andEnvironmental Services. HDR is one of the premier transportation consultancyfirms in the industry and known globally for delivering custom solutions tochallenging projects. We help our clients maximize value by enhancing transportationsystems with smart, sustainable, resilient, and equitable features.It's all done in concert with our tailored approach to planning that preciselyIn the role of PEL Practice Leader, we'll count on you to:Take responsibility for companywide development, coordination, monitoringand improvement of technical competencies of PEL planning staff and productsto meet client needs and market driversCollaborate with cross-functional teams to elevate our PEL practice anddevelop staff involved with federal PEL guidance and policies, corridor andregional planning and development, NEPA and other environmental regulations.Work with other practice leaders to develop transformative ideas that willenable clients to take advantage of the unique benefits and flexibility of thePEL framework; and also allow HDR to maintain thought leadership position inthe industry.Actively drive open communication with the Practice Group members regardingcurrent/projected production needs; and collaborate with areas toinfluence staffing and expertise levelsIdentify market opportunities in close coordination with Area BusinessDevelopment Leaders and develop winning pursuit strategies. Also assist withlocal and national pursuits.Identify industry talent and work with Area and Corporate leadership toattract and retain staffOversee delivery of project services and deliverables to meet clientexpectationsMaintain standards for quality and consistency of service brandMaintain qualification packages and staff skills matrix that can be readilyutilized for project pursuits. Assist with the development of marketingmaterials including proposals.Lead workshare communications that result in technical excellence and enhancedutilizationsAdvocate for professional development of staff and development of productiontools: best practices, technical policies and procedures, papers andpresentations, Professional Associates credentialing, recognition oftechnical achievement, practice group activities, and automation toolsServe as a project manager or senio advisor for major PEL projects andleverage HDR's global expertise to deliver quality work on time, whilemeeting or exceeding client expectationsDevelop client relationships in close coordination with Area BusinessDevelopment Leaders and local metropolitan planning staffRepresent HDR at state and national level professional organizationsAct as role model of our values and code of conduct, as well asprofessional/ethical/business standards expected by specific clients andrequired by licensing/credentialing entitiesPerform other duties as needed*LI-MR1QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline requiredMinimum of 10 years of relevant experience with PEL projects and programsrequiredExperienced in development and management of diverse teamsThe successful candidate must have knowledge of, and experience with, thePEL process and relevant federal regulations and guidance.Must have well-developed analytical, organizational, interpersonal, andwritten...
