　　The University of Chicago\'s Department of Medicine is searching forfull-time physician scientist faculty members at any rank. Appointeeswill maintain a productive research program and provide patient caredirectly. Other responsibilities will include teaching and supervisionof trainees and students. We are interested in applicants in any area ofscientific investigation and clinical subspecialty, and especiallywelcome those whose research focus more broadly is in the areas ofimmunology/inflammation, diabetes, obesity, metabolism, sleep disorders,or cancer biology. Academic rank, track, and compensation (including agenerous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

　　Primary appointments will be in the Department of Medicine, although weanticipate that appointees will develop close interactions with otherdepartments, divisions, centers and institutes at the University ofChicago, Argonne National Laboratory, and/or the Marine BiologicalLaboratory. Faculty recruited through this effort will strengthen anddiversify a collegial and internationally acclaimed research base thatis making major contributions to the advancement of human health.

　　Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have amedical doctorate or equivalent, and 2) hold or be eligible for medicallicensure in the State of Illinois.
