Overview
This is a research/clinical position. Experience with clinical care and research with individuals with Muscular Dystrophy with clinical trial experience is preferred.
The Physical Therapist II will perform clinical research study assessments and documentation in accordance with the study protocol.
The Physical Therapist II will perform evaluation, planning, treatment, maintain appropriate documentation,
and execution of clinical care duties of individuals with muscular dystrophy, genetic, and other neuromuscular disorders in pediatrics and adults.
The Physical Therapist II will participate in intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary training programs for affiliating staff, students, and other community agencies.
The Physical Therapist II may provide clinical supervision of physical therapy students, physical therapy assistants, and physical therapy aides.
Responsibilities
Evaluate assigned patients; plan programs; execute, supervise, and document programs as planned.
Participate in the development and execution of policies and procedures
Participate in performance improvement projects, service excellence, and prepare for certification/review by outside regulatory agencies
Provide instruction to caregivers regarding home and community programming.
Maintain written documentation, including patient reports, according to procedures of department, Institute, and Maryland PT guidelines.
Develop and/or coordinate all patient and staff education programs within area of specialty and assure continuity in clinical and patient education programs as part of the orientation process.
Supervise affiliating students and clinical staff as assigned.
Assist in training and the development of treatment protocols and clinical policies and procedures in area of specialty.
Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy.EXPERIENCE:
Three years experience in Physical Therapy with at least two years documented experience in area of specialty.
Experience in pediatrics and/or rehabilitation and treatment preferred.
RELATED TRAINING:
Must be licensed, or eligible for license, to practice physical therapy in the State of MarylandBenefits
