Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Physical Testing Laboratory Technician position for a specialty chemical company in North Houston. The overall responsibility of this role is to perform routine and non-routine testing of plastics, polymers, and adhesives in a research and development environment for product development purposes.

　　Additional Job Responsibilities:

　　Handling small plastic specimens, power tools, and heavy loads while performing routine testing in the laboratory utilizing multiple test methods and multiple pieces of equipment.

　　Fabrication of test specimens using power saws, drills, notcher, sander, waterjet cutter, and microtome.

　　Upkeep and routine maintenance and repairs of all the equipment.

　　Extensive computer usage to routinely perform data gathering, data charting, limited data analysis, data recording, and data transmittal to customers.

　　General laboratory maintenance to ensure that the laboratory is in full compliance with all safety, environmental, and health regulations and procedures.

　　Job Requirements:

　　AS/BS Degree in Chemical Technology or a Life Science is preferred

　　1+ years of plastics testing experience in an industrial laboratory such as tensile or load frame testing

　　Experience working with various types of power tools, particularly saws

　　Previous experience operating a Waterjet cutter would be a plus

　　Work well in a team environment and maintain close, cooperative relationships with fellow technicians.

　　Computer proficient, especially with Microsoft Office products

　　LIMS experience will be considered a plus
