A New Leafs Phoenix Day has offered quality early education in SouthPhoenix for more than 100 years, providing a solid educationalfoundation for children ages 0-5 from low-income households.
The Early Childhood Education program focuses on each childs uniquecharacteristics, developmental needs, and interests to support theirgrowth and development. Our role is to facilitate, assess, support, andnurture each child in their personal growth and development by providingaccess to a child-centered, emergent curriculum, health care, nutritioneducation, and parenting support services.
Additionally, all classrooms are immersion-based bilingual environments,exposing children to Spanish and English. This mix of students offers adiversity of language, culture, and backgrounds greatly enriching theeducational experience for all children. Through Phoenix Day, A New Leafis bringing affordable, quality early childhood education to householdsacross South Phoenix.
Hourly Pay Rate: \$21.25
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9:30am - 6:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School or GED, required.
Bachelors in Early Education, required
Experience:
Experience in early child development and/or education, required
Minimum of a Child Development Associate Certificate and 2 yearsexperience as a lead supervisory teacher of young children
Knowledge of Arizona Early Learning Standards and application inclassroom planning
Knowledge of Quality First! requirements (ECERS, ITERS and CLASS)
Demonstrated ability to enter information into database andinterpret/communicate developmental assessment results
Excellent leadership and communication skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that children are safe at all times.
Sanitize classroom furnishings, equipment, materials and learningsupplies used in the classroom every day.
Build relationships with parents and families; greet parents andchildren each morning and at time of pick up and communicate allappropriate information.
Complete intake and paperwork with parents and new children.
Complete online developmental assessments for each child, review resultswith parents, and enter data into database for reference in individuallearning plans and classroom planning.
Create and submit weekly lessons plans.
Complete required paperwork i.e. attendance, meal counts, daily reports,health checks, etc.
Train, monitor and model appropriate language, behavior, and activitiesfor children, teaching assistants and volunteers.
Assure availability of classroom and materials needed to supportcurriculum and weekly scheduled activities and readiness of classroomfor scheduled learning.
Train and supervise assistant teachers.
Complete performance reviews.
Complete scheduling, coverage and breaks for assigned classroom.
Approve timecards.
Monitor and record training hours.
Compliance Requirements:
Must be able to pass various background checks.
Must pass pre-employment drug test.
Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Must Be At Least 18 Years of Age
