Thelaboratory performs over 8 million tests annually. Our Lab servicesoperate state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in theareas of Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, ClinicalChemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service,EIA, and Molecular Biology. ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreachprogram, providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals,physician offices, nursing home, and assisted living facilities. OurPathologists and PhDs work closely with lab employees to monitorquality, as well as identify, access, and implement new technology. TheLaboratory has certification and accreditation through the College ofAmerican Pathologists (CAP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB)and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). What You Will Do: TheClinical Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for specimenprocurement, handling/processing and transport. This individual is alsoresponsible for the following: Efficiently performs venipuncture,capillary and arterial collections with minimum discomfort and accordingto established policies and procedures. Establishes positiveidentification of the patient prior to performing procedures. Accuratelyand completely labels specimens according to established laboratorypolicies and procedures. Provides patient instruction relative to thecollection of non-blood specimens. Appropriately prioritizes specimencollection requests. Responds to Stat, times and routine specimencollection requests in a timely manner as ordered. Processes specimensfor testing in the laboratory.
